
YOJO Terms of Use

Welcome to YOJO! These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the YOJO platform, including its website and related services (collectively, the "Services"). You agree to be bound by these Terms by accessing or using the Services. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Services immediately.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
For individual users: You represent that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and capable of entering into a legally binding agreement.
For minors (ages 13-17): You may use the Services only with the verified consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and will have the ability to oversee your account settings and activities.
For minors under 13: A parent or legal guardian must create and manage an account on the minor’s behalf.
For accounts created by organizations, the individual registering on behalf of the entity represents and warrants that they have the authority to bind the organization to these Terms. In such cases:

The organization is responsible for ensuring all its Authorized Users comply with these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must discontinue use of the Services immediately.
2. Use of Services
2.1 Permitted Use
You may use the Services solely for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms. By using the Services, you agree to:
Provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account.
Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and account details.
Use the Services in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Ensure that any content you upload, post, or share complies with these Terms.
2.2 Prohibited Activities
You may not use the Services to:
Violate applicable local, state, national, or international laws or regulations.
Engage in fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive practices, including impersonating another person or entity.
Copy, modify, or create derivative works of YOJO’s platform, content, or services.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from YOJO’s software.
Use the Services for unauthorized commercial purposes, including reselling access, data scraping, or advertising non-YOJO services.
Upload or distribute content that:
Infringes on intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, trade secret, etc.).
Is hateful, harassing, obscene, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate.
Contains false, misleading, or deceptive information.
Includes malware, spyware, phishing, or other harmful code.
Encourages violence, discrimination, or harm against individuals or groups.
Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to YOJO’s platform, networks, or data.
Collect or harvest personal data from other users without consent.
Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with any security features of the Services.
Attempt to bypass payment structures or subscription models to gain unauthorized access to paid features.
Facilitate or participate in inappropriate interactions between adults and minors, including but not limited to harassment, exploitation, or abuse.
YOJO reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action against any violations, including content removal, account suspension, or termination.
3. Account Responsibilities
3.1 User Responsibilities
By using the Services, you agree that you are responsible for:
Maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials.
All activities that occur under your account, whether or not you authorized them.
Immediately notifying YOJO at if you suspect unauthorized use or security breaches.
Ensuring that any information you provide is accurate, complete, and up to date.
If you are an Admin registering on behalf of an organization, you also agree that:
You have the authority to bind the organization to these Terms.
The organization is responsible for ensuring its Authorized Users comply with these Terms.
The organization assumes responsibility for all activities conducted through its Authorized Users' accounts.
3.2 Responsibility for Minors’ Accounts
If you are a parent or legal guardian providing consent for a minor (ages 13-17) to use the Services, you agree that you:
Monitor and oversee the minor’s use of the Services.
Ensure that the minor adheres to these Terms.
Accept full responsibility for any activity conducted through the minor’s account.
For minors under the age of 13, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account on behalf of the child. YOJO requires additional verification steps to confirm parental consent and oversight.
3.3 Account Suspension and Termination
YOJO reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that:
Violates these Terms.
Engages in fraudulent, illegal, or unauthorized activities.
Is inactive for more than 12 months (except for organizational accounts).
Is found to belong to a minor under 13 without verified parental consent.
Users will receive at least 7 days' notice before termination, except in cases of illegal activity, fraud, or immediate security risks. If you believe your account was terminated in error, you may appeal by contacting within 14 days of termination.
4. Intellectual Property
4.1 YOJO-Owned Intellectual Property
YOJO and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in and to:
The YOJO platform, software, and code.
All trademarks, logos, and branding associated with YOJO.
Any aggregated, anonymized data, analytics, and insights derived from platform usage.
Educational materials, templates, and resources created by YOJO.
You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to use the Services for personal or internal business purposes only. You may not:
Copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works of any YOJO intellectual property.
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Services.
Use YOJO branding, logos, or trademarks without written permission.
4.2 User-Generated Content and License to YOJO
By uploading, submitting, or otherwise providing content to YOJO (e.g., profile information, messages, reviews, media), you retain ownership of your content. However, you grant YOJO a limited, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to:
Host, store, display, and distribute your content within the platform.
Use your content for internal product improvements, such as AI-driven matching.
Share your content with other users as necessary for YOJO’s services in accordance with your privacy settings.
This license remains in effect only while you use the Services. If you delete content or your account, YOJO will remove publicly available versions within a reasonable timeframe, except when retention is legally required.
4.3 User Content Restrictions
You may not upload, post, or share content that:
Infringes on intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of others.
Contains defamatory, harassing, obscene, or otherwise unlawful material.
Includes false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
Contains malware, spyware, or unauthorized advertisements.
YOJO reserves the right to remove or restrict any content that violates these Terms without notice.
4.4 Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Policy
If you believe that content on YOJO.Center infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA Takedown Request to with:
A description of the copyrighted work.
A link to the allegedly infringing content.
Your contact information.
YOJO will investigate claims and take appropriate action, including content removal.
5. Privacy
5.1 Data Collection and Use
YOJO collects and processes personal information as described in the Privacy Policy. This may include:

5.2 Parental Consent and Minors’ Privacy
If you are a parent or legal guardian providing consent for a minor (ages 13-17) to use the Services:

You may review, modify, or delete the minor’s account and associated data anytime.
For minors under 13 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account on behalf of the child. YOJO requests additional verification for parental consent.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
6.1 No Warranties
The YOJO Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, YOJO expressly disclaims all warranties, representations, and conditions, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to:
Merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Availability, reliability, security, or accuracy of the Services.
Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform.
Suitability of YOJO’s content, analytics, or recommendations for any specific use.
YOJO does not warrant that:
The Services will always be secure, error-free, or available without delays.
Any data, insights, or analytics provided through the platform will be accurate, complete, or reliable.
Any content uploaded by users will be retained or accessible indefinitely.
6.2 User Responsibility
You acknowledge that:

YOJO is not responsible for third-party content, services, or links accessed through the platform.
Any decisions made based on YOJO’s insights, recommendations, or analytics are solely your responsibility.

YOJO does not provide advice on legal, financial, educational, or career counseling. Any information or insights provided are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional guidance.
7. Limitation of Liability
7.1 General Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, YOJO and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
Loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, data, or goodwill.
Service interruptions, software failures, or platform unavailability.
Unauthorized access, breaches, or alterations of your data.
User interactions, disputes, or content posted by others on the platform.
7.2 Liability Cap
To the fullest extent permitted by law, YOJO’s total cumulative liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Services shall not exceed the greater of:
The total fees paid by you to YOJO in the 12 months preceding the claim or
$500 for users who have not paid any fees.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability for certain types of damages, so limitations may not apply to all users.
7.3 User-Asumed Risks
By using the Services, you acknowledge that:
YOJO does not control or guarantee the actions of other users, including mentors, learners, or third-party service providers.
Any decisions or reliance on information from the platform are solely your responsibility.
YOJO is not responsible for career outcomes, mentorship success, or business decisions made using the platform.
If you are dissatisfied with the Services or these Terms, your sole remedy is discontinuing the platform's use.
8. Indemnification
8.1 User Obligation to Indemnify
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless YOJO, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, licensors, service providers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or related to:
Your use or misuse of the Services, including any content you upload or share.
Your violation of these Terms, Privacy Policy, or any applicable laws or regulations.
Your infringement of any intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of a third party.
Any disputes between you and other users, organizations, or third parties using the Services.
Your consent for a minor’s use of the Services, including any claims arising from a minor’s actions or data processing.
Any unauthorized access or security breach resulting from your failure to safeguard your account credentials.
8.2 Defense and Control
YOJO reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to assume exclusive control over any matter subject to indemnification. If we choose to do so, you agree to cooperate fully with YOJO’s defense strategy at your expense.
8.3 Survival
This indemnification obligation will survive termination of your account and cessation of your use of the Services.
9. Termination
9.1 YOJO’s Right to Suspend or Terminate Accounts
YOJO may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that you have:
Violated these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or any applicable laws or regulations.
Engaged in fraudulent, misleading, or illegal activities on the platform.
Used the Services in a way that causes harm, disruption, or legal liability for YOJO or other users.
Been inactive for more than 12 months (except for organizational accounts).
Failed to obtain or maintain necessary parental consent, if you are a minor.
Provided false, incomplete, or misleading account information.
YOJO also reserves the right to restrict features, suspend access, or remove content without terminating an account if a violation is minor or correctable.
9.2 Notice of Termination
Except in cases involving fraud, illegal activity, or security threats, YOJO will make reasonable efforts to provide:
At least 7 days’ notice before termination.
A written explanation of the reason for termination (upon request).
9.3 User Appeal Process
If you believe your account was terminated in error, you may submit an appeal within 14 days by contacting with:

YOJO will review appeals within 30 days and notify you of its final decision. Terminations for fraud, abuse, or security risks are generally not eligible for appeal.
9.4 Effect of Termination

Your content may be deleted permanently, except where retention is legally required.
YOJO will not be liable for any loss of data or access resulting from termination.
If your account is terminated due to violations of these Terms, you may not create a new account without prior written permission from YOJO.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
10.1 Governing Law
These Terms and any disputes arising under them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
10.2 Mandatory Arbitration
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Services shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
The arbitration shall occur in Raleigh, North Carolina, or at another mutually agreed location.
The arbitration may be conducted virtually if both parties agree.
The arbitrator’s decision will be final and binding, and any judgment may be entered in a court of competent jurisdiction.
10.3 Class Action Waiver
You agree that any claims against YOJO must be brought on an individual basis, and you waive any right to participate in a class action, consolidated action, or representative proceeding.
10.4 Exceptions to Arbitration
Either party may bypass arbitration to:
Seek injunctive or equitable relief for claims related to intellectual property infringement or unauthorized access to the platform.
Pursue claims in small claims court if they qualify under the court’s jurisdictional limits.
10.5 Arbitration Opt-Out
You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of creating an account by submitting a written request to with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out Request." The request must include:

A clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration.
If you opt-out, you retain the right to pursue legal claims in court but still waive the right to participate in a class action.
10.6 Costs and Fees
For claims under $10,000, YOJO will cover the arbitration filing fees unless the arbitrator finds the claim to be frivolous.
Each party shall bear its own attorneys' fees and costs unless otherwise required by law.
10.7 Venue and Jurisdiction
For users who opt out of arbitration, any legal claims must be filed exclusively in the state or federal courts in Raleigh, North Carolina, and both parties consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
11. Changes to the Terms
11.1 Right to Modify Terms
YOJO reserves the right to update, modify, or revise these Terms at any time. Any changes will take effect upon posting unless otherwise required by law.
11.2 Notice of Changes
If material changes are made to these Terms, YOJO will provide notice through one or more of the following methods:
Posting an updated version on the YOJO platform with a revised “Effective Date.”
Sending an email notification to registered users.
Displaying an in-app notification upon login.
For material changes that impact user rights or obligations, we will provide at least 30 days' notice before the changes take effect, except when legally required to implement changes sooner.
11.3 User Acceptance of Changes
Your continued use of the Services after any updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Services and close your account.

12.2 Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and YOJO regarding the use of the Services. They supersede all prior agreements, communications, and understandings, whether written or oral.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
12.4 No Waiver
Failure by YOJO to enforce any right or provision under these Terms shall not be considered a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative of YOJO.
12.5 Assignment
Users may not transfer or assign their rights or obligations under these Terms without prior written consent from YOJO.
YOJO may freely assign or transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms, including in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
12.6 Force Majeure
YOJO shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, hurricanes).
Government actions or regulations.
Cyberattacks, security breaches, or technical failures.
Labor strikes, supply chain disruptions, or pandemics.
If a force majeure event prevents YOJO from fulfilling its obligations for more than 60 consecutive days, affected users may terminate their accounts without penalty.
12.7 Survival of Terms
Specific provisions of these Terms shall survive termination of your account, including:
Intellectual property rights (YOJO-owned content).
